At CSI Property Managment, we strive to provide the best association management services available in Lake Norman, Charlotte and surrounding areas. Our staff is comprised of association managers, billing and administrative support specialists, and more!

Certified Staff is the Core of CSI Property Management
We have has eight community managers who are designated Certified Managers of Community Associations (CMCA), the initial step to seeking the PCAM designation. This certification confirms the manager has completed specific coursework, industry experience and has passed the designation examination.

 Executive Team
Jonathan Swope- CEO, CMCA, AMS

Raised in Charlotte where he went to West Charlotte High School. He later attended The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Management & Society. He returned to Charlotte to excel in a sales position for 2 years until he replaced his parent’s partner at CSI Property Management in 2008.

Jonathan holds professional designations from the national Community Associations Institute (CAI): Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) and Association Management Specialist (AMS). He is pursuing the next designation offered by CAI: The Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM), which is the highest professional recognition available nationwide to managers who specialize in community association management. In 2011, he founded a charity organization, Second Chance Christmas, which puts on an annual holiday party to collect over 1,200 Christmas toys each year for less fortunate local children.
Nicole Grandelli- President CMCA, AMS

A Charlotte native, has been with CSI since February 2007. She started as a Community Manager with CSI, in 2014 became the Director of Operations. In 2017 Nicole was Permoted toVicePresident. Her interaction throughout her tenure, with various Boards & her problem-solving abilities, made her transition to a larger management role at CSI a natural process.

 Nicole is a member of the CAI and regularly attends educational seminars through CAI and helps with the state conference.
Nicole holds professional designations from the national CAI: Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) and Association Management Specialist (AMS). Nicole is a graduate of Lee’s McRae College in Banner Elk, North Carolina, and worked in Community Association Management in high school and in college. Nicole’s success is measured by her passion to be the best and her dedication to make a difference. In her time off, she enjoys spending time with her Husband and their 3 children.
 Jennifer Sonnefeld - Vice President

While originally from Michigan, Jennifer has spent most of her adult life in the south, making the Charlotte region her home in 2001. Jennifer joined the CSI team in the beginning of 2018 and brings 10 years of management and leadership to the team. Jennifer works closely with the managers and boards as our Director of Client Relations. With a diverse background and years of working with developers and new board members, Jennifer brings a fresh approach to association management. Jennifer’s passion for the business as well as high expectations for customer service insures she is a perfect fit for the CSI group. Jenn has two sons and loves to spend time with her husband and boys hiking outdoors.
Angela Burgess- Director of Accounting 

Angela joined our staff in August of 2013. She moved to North Carolina in 2010 from Arkansas. Angela has over 30 years’ experience in all aspects of accounting in a wide variety of venues including Public CPA firms, museums, and the construction industry. She began with CSI handling our accounts payable and in January 2015 became our Accounting Manager. Her main focus is billing and collections. Angela assists our property managers and our homeowners with all aspects of accounting.
Karen Swope - Founder,COO, CMCA, AMS

Karen brings great customer service experience as former trainer for a national cosmetics firm and lead teacher of English at the secondary level. Her attention to the management of internal operations brings a high level of quality of service to our clients.

Karen has been awarded the professional designations Association Management Specialist (AMS) and Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA). Karen is a member of CAI-North Carolina chapter Board since 2012 and is currently serving as Secertary. Karen has also served as a mentor to a college scholar with the WINGS program at Women Executives of Charlotte.

Karen is a recipient of the inaugural Charlotte SmartCEO’s BRAVA AWARDS. SmartCEO’s Brave Awards celebrate top female company leaders who combine their irrepressible entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for giving back.

John Swope- Founder - Retired 

John brings nearly three decades of financial experience as a former corporate assistant controller, international financial analyst, and sales account executive; he has served on boards of homeowners associations. His experience, business graduate courses and degree in Business Management, concentration accounting, brings a great understanding of HOA finances and the budgeting process. He is instrumental in helping communities plan their reserve schedules.
 Commnuity Managers
Marlene Campbell- Senior Community Manager, CMCA, AMS

Marlene is a native Carolinian, who is celebrating 12 years with CSI Property Management. She feels her job at CSI is very interesting; you never know when you pick up the telephone as to what will be happening on the other end of the telephone! She has met many friends through her relationships with clients, vendors and the people she works with. Marlene has always worked in a customer service field, dealing with all types of people. In her time off, she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.
Alicia Velasquez - Community Manager

Alicia is originally from Ohio and moved to North Carolina in 2003. Upon moving to North Carolina, she took a position in customer service with a local builder in Lake Norman. While working in the building industry she became very familiar with Property Management as she worked with many firms during transitioning of communities. She moved over into Property Management in 2007 and has enjoyed the fast-paced atmosphere and interacting with Board Members, Vendors, and Co-workers. Alicia strives to provide outstanding customer service daily. She is very excited to work with CSI Properties and looks forward to the many years ahead. Alicia is currently working to become CMCA certified.
Steve Gallagher - Senior Community Manager, CMCA

Steve spent his grade school years in Charlotte, NC before moving to Knoxville, TN. He attended Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY and majored in Business Management. Moved back to Charlotte and began his career working for a commercial property management company managing an IBM facility. After several years of commercial property management, Steve started his own business in the marble/granite restoration field and did that for 22 years.

In 2012 Steve went back to the property management field. He lived in a CSI managed community and served on the Board of Directors in that community for 5 years. It was during this time that he met John and Karen Swope. Steve was very impressed with John the first time he met him as he came to his community on Christmas morning of 2002 due to a major water leak in his building. Steve has always admired CSI’s work ethic and wanted to part of their team.
Danielle Bronstein- Community Manager

Danielle is originally from Upstate New York where she attended school for Social Work. She spent the last 10 years living in Charleston, SC where she worked as a Community Manager for over 4 years for a local Property Management Company. Danielle recently moved to the Charlotte area and started working for CSI Properties as a Community Manager in November 2015.
Beth Watkins - Community Manager

Beth is originally from the Boston area and has lived in North Carolina for over four years. She has a degree in hospitality from the University of South Carolina. Beth has an extensive experience in customer service and property management and enjoys working with people from many different backgrounds. Beth is currently working to achive her CMCA.
When she is not working, Beth enjoys traveling, spending time with family, friends and her dog.
Patrick Chehade- CMCA,

Patrick began his career in the Property Management industry in 1986, bringing over 30 years' experience with large scale portfolio management, rental management and financial services to CSI. He attended The University of Massachusetts in Boston where he earned a Finance Degree with a concentration in Accounting which allows him the additional understanding of reserves, annual budgeting and future capital projects required for this industry.
Jarrod Lien - Community Manager

Jarrod is originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota and attended college at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. He spent the last 8 years living in Hilton Head Island, SC where he worked as a community manager for over 5 years for a local property management company.  Jarrod is a Certified Manager of Community Associates (CMCA®).  He also has 8 years of experience in the hospitality business as front office manager.  Jarrod recently moved to the Charlotte area and started working for CSI properties as a community  manager in October of 2017.  

Erin Carr- Transition Coordinator

Erin is a graduate from the University of New Orleans and a Louisiana native. Erin has worked for CSI since 2011, beginning as an Assistant Community Manager and she soon transitioned into our dedicated Transition Coordinator.
Her duties include the seamless transition of services and communications, with our new clients in order to ensure that no detail gets forgotten. She obtained her CMCA certification and was a member of the NC-CAI Recognition Committee from 2012 until 2015.
Stephanie Smith- Accounts Payable

Stephanie joined CSI in April 2014 as the Accounts Payable Manager. She has worked in accounting roles for 17+ years. Originally from New Jersey, she moved to the Lake Norman area in late 2010, and finished her accounting degree. She has experience working as a full-charge bookkeeper for a large manufacturing company and at Phillips-Van Heusen Corp. in the Accounts Payable department. She is happy to answer any questions regarding community payables, as well as assist the billing department with resident inquiries. She is thrilled to be at CSI and living in this beautiful area. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family in and around the lake.
Brandy Smith- Office Manager

Brandy was born and raised in North Carolina and joined CSI in October of 2016. She brings 7 years’ office management and 11 years’ customer service experience. Brandy enjoys working with people, as it is never the same. On her down time she loved to spend time with her family and to be outdoors
 Ashely Ortiz- Accounting Admin 
Ashley joined our team in March as the newest addition to the Accounting Department. Ashley is now a dedicated person answering all accounting calls and assisting with other necessary accounting functions.
